The Poem Below was my first Attempt in the vast sphere of English Sonnets. The speaker in the poem has lost his wife and in a fit of helplessness and melancholy, He calls her unfaithful as to why she perished away leaving him solitery in the world. All the same, He consoles himself saying that she will remain with him forever and she revives in his thoughts of her where she is still alive and will go on for the rest of his life:
Unfaithful!!!
If Only Thou Were There,
Sharing The Pangs Of Life With Me,
To Lead A Life, If Thou Would Dare,
Never Would I call Thee, Thee Never To Be,
I Remember The Time Has Slipped Away
When Sweetening Things THou Looked Innocent,
Unworried We Had The Joys Of Heyday,
Unmoved To The Worldly Affairs And Rapture Present,
Though All This Ended With Thy Sudden Flight,
Leaving Me Alone With The Rest Cursed Years,
Beyond The World To Heaven, Ah! Measureless Height,
Never To Return Thou Left, Drowning Me In Tears,
Yet My Sole Love, The Moment I Remember Thee, Thee Revive
In My Sweet Memories Of Thee Where Thou Still Survive.
